The weather can be a little tricky, but you will always find a spot to relax, free your mind, go hiking, kayaking or surfing. The area around Tofino is always good for a little adventure. I fell in love with Vancouver Island (and BC in general) 10 years ago when I was blessed to spent 6 months there.

One of the rather well known surfspots can be found just south of the Tofino centre – Cox Bay (beach break). Waves can get a little higher when there is a good swell (don’t underestimate the current!).

There are also some surf events taking place at Cox Bay Rip Curl Stew Surf Competition – so you might want to check out the event calendar before you go.
Alternatives in the near surroundings: Mackenzie Beach, Chesterman Beach and Rosie Bay.
