About shred.at – the mountain bike blog

Hi, my name is Nina (shred.at).

I am a passionate mountain biker and love surfing. I like being in nature and enjoy travelling – both preferably with my bike.

My home is where my heart is. I grew up in a small town near Frankfurt am Main (Germany) and after stops in Heilbronn, Madrid (Spain), Vancouver (Canada), Stuttgart and Berlin, I kind of got settled in Vienna (Austria) in 2006.

I have been riding bikes my whole life but started with mountain biking quite late. It was a little unexpected – I fell in love with the sport on a surf trip to Bali. I stayed at the Chillhouse in Canggu at that time and went on a ride with the crew that later became the Bali Bike Park Team. It was my first experience with a Fully and I was immediately hooked.

Back in Austria, I did some research and was surprised to find a really cool women’s bike club. I joined the Velochicks and got myself a proper mountain bike. Since then, I am out on the trails whenever I can – always on the search for nice bike destinations. Since 2016, I compete in the Enduro One Series.

On shred.at I share stories about women in mountain biking, experiences at bike destinations I had the opportunity to visit and other stuff that might interest you. In addition, the plan is to provide some other in-depth materials that will help you to find your way into mountain biking. If this is what your are looking for – sign up for further updates. Then I will keep you posted on new tips, events, mountain bike rides and clinics.
